Will the HAWK 18-inch fit my child?

This 18-inchkids' bike is designed for children ages approximately 5–7 and between about 110–135 cm in height. The seat height ranges from approximately 58–70 cm. The age range is a general guideline—height, inseam length, and a secure fit are more important. The saddle and handlebar can be adjusted to fit the child. The frame shape and adjustment range vary slightly among individual HAWK colors; therefore, the saddle height range is intentionally specified collectively for the entire model family.

Here's how to measure your child's stride length

Have your child stand barefoot with their back against a wall. Slide a sturdy book horizontally between their legs and carefully up to their crotch. Mark the top edge of the book on the wall, then measure the distance from the floor to the mark—this measurement is the inseam length. As an additional guide, you can compare the measured inseam length with the specified saddle height range. The practical seat test remains crucial: Your child should be able to get on and off safely, control the “ handlebar ,” and, depending on their riding ability, maintain sufficient contact with the ground.

Just the right size for the next step

If a 16-inch bike is starting to feel too small, but a 20-inch bike still seems too big, an 18-inch bike might be the perfect in-between size. Your child will have a bike that offers more space without seeming unnecessarily large—and it’s exactly that sense of security that makes them want to go on longer rides.

Security & Control

The HAWK combines a coaster brake in the rear with a HAWK aluminum V-brake in the front. The adjustable " brake lever " helps adapt the bike to smaller children's hands. chain guard, non-slip grips, reflector-pedals, mudguards , and reflectors round out the child-friendly features.

The single-speed drivetrain is designed to keep operation simple. This allows your child to focus on steering, pedaling, braking, and balancing.

Safety and Care

CAUTION: Assembly and adjustments must be performed only by adults. Use only for one child and in accordance with the specified wheel size, age, height, and weight guidelines. Wear an appropriate bicycle helmet, sturdy shoes, and appropriate protective gear. Before every ride, check that the brakes, tyre, rims, saddle, steering, pedals , and fasteners are secure and functioning properly. Practice safe braking with the child; braking distance is longer in wet conditions. Do not use for tricks, stunts, or off-road riding. Use only in suitable areas that are as free of traffic as possible and away from stairs, bodies of water, slopes, and roadways. If equipped, use the stabilisers only during a brief learning phase and adjust it equally on both sides. Observe national regulations for use on public roads. Read and follow the instruction manual in its entirety before first use.

Store in a dry place protected from the elements. Clean and dry after exposure to moisture. Regularly maintain the chain and moving parts to prevent corrosion.
